The compound functions as an inhibitor of serine/threonine-protein kinase Chk1 (Checkpoint kinase 1), which plays a key role in cell cycle regulation and DNA damage response pathways. By inhibiting Chk1 activity (IC50 ~22.9 μM), this molecule may have potential applications in cancer research or therapy by interfering with tumor cell survival mechanisms under genotoxic stress conditions.
